Jamshedpur, Dec 22: The trainees from Tata Steel Athletics Training Centres and Athletics Feeder Centres from different mining locations of the company performed well, winning as many as 22 medals during the 15th Jharkhand State Athletics Championship held in Ranchi between December 18 and 21.
Total 32 trainees had participated in the meet from Tata Steel Athletics Training Centres and Athletics Feeder Centres from mining locations of West Bokaro Division, Jharia Division and Ore Mines and Quarries Division. The tally of 22 medals include 9 Gold, 7 Silver and 6 Bronze. Trainees won the medals in both the Track and Field events such as – Sprint, Middle Distance Run, Long Jump, Walk, Javelin Throw, Triple Jump, etc.
Some of the trainees participated in more than one event and even won in multiple events.
Tata Steel Sports Department officials congratulated the winning team members along with coaches Saroj Lakra and Sanjeev Kumar.
