Tata Steel announces Millennium Scholarship for employee families

Jamshedpur, Dec 27: Tata Steel has opened applications for the Millennium Scholarship for the financial year 2022-2023. This scholarship is available for sons, daughters, husbands, and wives of employees, former employees, and officers associated with Tata Steel. The deadline for submitting applications is 29th February, and interested candidates can apply online. The scholarship program allocates 10% of its seats for SC and ST candidates.

There are a total of 60 seats reserved for individuals availing the Employee Stock Scheme (ESS) or Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). This includes 20 seats in Category A and 40 seats in Category B. The scholarship provides financial aid under two categories:

Category A:

Scholarships under this category, totaling a maximum of 120, are granted to candidates securing admission in specified institutions, including those pursuing MBBS through NEET. The annual scholarship amount for Category A is Rs 50,000.

Category B:

Under Category B, there are 240 scholarship seats, with an annual scholarship amount of Rs 24,000. This category includes scholarships for boys and girls, as well as children of officers and individuals benefiting from the Sunhari Bhavishya Yojana (SBKY 2.0).

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship include a minimum of 60% marks for candidates under the General category and 50% for SC/ST students in their final qualifying examination. Candidates must seek admission to specified colleges or institutions through an All India Competitive Selection Process. Additionally, applicants need to submit a self-attested photocopy of the admit card for verification of participation in the competitive process.

The scholarship committee will make final decisions, and candidates receiving aid or scholarships from other institutions will not be considered. Successful applicants must maintain satisfactory performance and conduct, with a minimum of 50% marks required in all courses of study for subsequent scholarship installments.

Moreover, each employee’s child is eligible for a maximum of two scholarships, and any incorrect or false declaration may result in appropriate disciplinary action. The required documents for application include Xerox copies of original mark sheets, one passport-size photograph, and other necessary details as specified in the application form.
