Tata Steel Adventure Foundation signs MoU with SAIL’s MTI to Continue Outbound Leadership Programmes

Jamshedpur, February 5: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Management Training Institute (MTI) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) to continue and strengthen outbound leadership development programmes for SAIL employees.

TSAF has been working with SAIL since 2017 and has successfully delivered more than 100 adventure-based experiential learning programmes over the past eight years. Designed to build leadership, teamwork, resilience and personal growth, these courses use outdoor and adventure activities as a platform for immersive learning. To date, over 2,000 SAIL employees have participated in TSAF-led outbound programmes.

The renewed MoU is valid from 25 January 2026 to 25 January 2028, and aims to further enhance learning outcomes, employee engagement, and leadership capabilities across SAIL through structured experiential development interventions.

The MoU was signed by D.B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel and Chairman, Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, on behalf of Tata Steel Adventure Foundation. Representing SAIL, the agreement was signed by Sanjay Dhar, Executive Director (Human Resources –Learning and Development), Management Training Institute (MTI), SAIL.

Other Tata Steel officials present at the signing included Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports, Tata Steel, and Hemant Gupta, Head – Sports Academies and Adventure Programme, Tata Steel, and Managing Trustee, TSAF.

From SAIL, the event was attended by Atanu Mukherjee, General Manager In-charge (HR–L&D), MTI, SAIL, and Ms. Niharika, Senior Manager (HR–L&D), MTI, SAIL.

Through this continued partnership, TSAF and SAIL reaffirm their shared commitment to nurturing capable, confident and future-ready leaders through experiential and outdoor learning.
