Tata Power�s Maithon Power helps Bihar flood victims

Ranchi/Dhanbad: In line with this commitment, Tata Power�s Maithon power plant distributed flood relief items among flood affected villagers of Sitamarhi district in Bihar under the �Tata Bihar Floods Relief Program 2017� that was launched by Tata Sustainability Group (TSG) under the banner of One Tata Response. The convener of the program was appointed by TSG and accordingly K Chandrashekhar, ED & CEO of Maithon Power Limited, duly supported by several other Tata Group companies
Under this program each flood affected family was provided two mosquito nets, one Tata Swaach water filter, two high quality tarpaulin sheets and a solar lantern cum mobile charger. As part of the relief initiative, the NGO partners (Action Aid) and volunteers of �One Tata Response� demonstrated the use of all items to the villagers so that they could make efficient use of these essential commodities. The relief program targeted to distribute the above-mentioned relief items to approx. 3000 affected families of various districts of Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran & West Champaran, and about 362 families of Bhadadih, Sonpura, Rakhiya, Runni & Shivnagar villages.
Maithon Power Ltd., a 74:26 joint venture between Tata Power & Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), has been relentlessly contributing towards the welfare of the communities that surround its area of operation and the nation at large, said a company spokesperson.
