Jamshedpur, April 15: The National Fire Service week is being observed from April 14 to 20 at TML Jamshedpur.
On Friday, on the occasion of Fire Day, inauguration of the week was done by Sumant Sinha, GM (Employee Relations, Welfare & CSR) and Manash Mishra, GM (Program Management), Ranjit Dhar, Head – Safety & Administration, and Sqn. Ldr. N S Kadian , Head – Security were present.
During the inaugural function homage was paid to brave fire fighters who lost their lives during firefighting operation.
It was followed by hoisting of Fire Service flag. Also an exhibition on fire equipment was inaugurated. In the exhibition Tata Motors Fire services displayed the various fire and rescue equipment.
Other Fire equipment companies like De’s Technico, SHM Shipcare, and Eastern Trade link, Amit Enterprises, Alpha Solutions, Minimax and Kanex also displayed their fire and rescue products. Employees of TML and from neighboring companies visited the exhibition and enhanced their awareness on fire safety.
Theme for the Fire Service week is “Prevent Fire Accident & Promote Nation’s Development.” In this Fire week events like Fire Extinguisher operation competition for employees, sit and draw competition for school students, fire awareness rally in the township, joint mock drill along with mutual aid group (Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Power and Jharkhand fire services) and fire awareness training along with quiz for ladies employees at AIWC, Mahila Sharan, are planned.
On day two of the fire safety week, a fire awareness rally was carried out at Telco Township as part of the Fire Service week on Friday. Moto of the rally was to create awareness on Fire safety among residents. The rally was flagged off from the main gate by Ranjit Dhar (Head-Admin & Safety) along with Sqn. Ldr N.S. Kadian, DM (Security, HA & G. Transport).
Fire team members of Tata Motors and Tata Power participated in the rally. They marched across the township along with fire tenders displaying banners of fire service week. Pamphlets containing information on Fire safety were distributed to residents during the rally to enhance their awareness on fire safety.
