Tata Motors management against inclusion of Telco Workers Union in regularisation talk

Jamshedpur, January 19: Tata Motors Jamshedpur management has rejected inclusion of Telco Workers Union in the talks over regularisation of temporary (by-six) employees.

The plant head of the company, Ravindra Kulkarni, in his reply submitted to the Deputy Labor Commissioner in this matter, stated many facts that Telco cannot negotiate with the workers union.

Sources indicated that Tata Motors management is preparing to go to the High Court against the Telco Workers Union.

The management says that the High Court order is being misrepresented by the Telco Workers Union, which is contempt of court. Tata Motors reserves the right to file a contempt petition in the Patna High Court in this matter. Prakash Kumar, who claims to be the general secretary, Akash Dubey, who claims to be the vice president, and Harsh Vardhan, who claims to be a member, are not even employees of Tata Motors Jamshedpur as on date, hence they cannot be office bearers and are not recognized by the Telco Workers Union. An unregistered trade union has no legal existence.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors Workers Union advisor Praveen Singh in a press conference on Thursday said that Harshvardhan Singh is dismissed from Tata Motors Company and alleged that they want to be in the news by raising the name of temporary workers through their unrecognised workers union by putting the case in court or tribunal.

He further alleged that if the case gets litigated, the matter of employment of temporary employees will get stuck and delayed.

On the  other hand Harsh Vardhan Singh sent a letter to the Governor on Thursday, requesting to be included in the talks for the regularisation of temporary workers of Tata Motors. Before this, Harshvardhan Singh had given letters to the Labor Commissioner twice to include him in the talks.

When asked, Harshvardhan Singh said that the Telco Workers Union has been recognized by the court.
