Jamshedpur, June 12: The environment department of Tata Motors organized a bicycle rally to promote environment conservation and awareness on Sunday. The rally started at the main gate of the company in Telco. Its main objective was to spread greater awareness among the local residents in Telco Colony and its surrounding localities. The students of several local schools participated in the event.
Head ER Deepak Kumar was present during the programme along with Tata Motors Workers Union general secretary RK Singh. He said the rally aimed at bringing about awareness among the citizens on the need to save the environment.
The union leader said the campaign of environment conservation could succeed only through the collective participation of the society. Union president Gurmeet Singh Tote, also present, said cycling was beneficial not only for human health but also for the environment.
The cycle rally was flagged off jointly by Deepak Kumar, senior company official Manas Mishra, Administration Head Rajat Singh and the union officials. It concluded at Telco Club.
