Tata Motors Jamshedpur announces 10.67 per cent bonus, 201 bi-six regularized

Jamshedpur, Sep 16: Tata Motors employees will get 10.67 per cent annual bonus this year. The announcement was made here on Friday after a bonus agreement was signed by the company management and Tata Motors Workers Union. The bonus would be given to 5600 permanent and 3700 bi-six workers of the company, sources said.

Sources said the employees will get a maximum amount of Rs 51,500 and an average amount of Rs 38,200. Bi-six employees would get 8.33 per cent bonus. Besides, 201 employees would be regularized. They include nurses of Tata Motors Hospital. The bonus amount would be sent to the bank accounts of employees very soon, sources said.

The bonus announcement was welcomed by the union leaders and employees who celebrated the occasion by smearing abir and gulal on each other’s faces. Tata Workers Union president Gurmeet Singh and general secretary RK Singh were welcomed with garlands at the company gate and union office.

Last year, the company had given 10.6 per cent bonus. The maximum amount was Rs 50,200 and average amount was Rs 38,200. Around 300 employees covered under superannuation were given Rs 11,200 as grant. Besides, 281 bi-six workers were made permanent employees.

The bonus agreement was entered at a meeting between the company management and union members at 5 pm.
