Jamshedpur: Republic Day ceremony was organized by Tata Motors at Sumant Moolgaonkar Stadium, Telco. The National Flag was hoisted by the plant head of Tata Motors, AB Lal.
Addressing the gathering, Lal said the Indian economy was undergoing a difficult phase. The entire automobile sector including Tata Motors is facing tough times due to economic slowdown, a reduction in demand, shortage of mining activities, soaring diesel prices and tough competition, he said.
Lal said the company had maintained its market share in middle and heavy vehicle sector at 64 per cent. The company has a strong hold in the market, which is commendable, he said.
The plant head further said that 12 Prima trucks were going to be built in Tata Motors plant in Jamshedpur. The trucks will be used in the truck race going to be organized in Noida on 23rd March, he said.
