Tata-Kandra four-lane set to be completed by March 31

Jamshedpur : Tata-Kandra four-lane is expected to be completed by March 31 this year. The work on the project is in full swing as the agency involved, Jharkhand Accelerated Road Development Company Limited (JARDCL) has started constructing service lanes and drains at various stretches where the work was lying suspended due to dispute between the land owners and the road construction department.

JARDCL’s senior manager Amit Garg said that the road project is on the fast track and work is in full progress. Garg said the work on service-lane is lying pending since a long time and the company can no longer wait for the completion of the service-lane as well as the drainage.

The JARDCL has started laying pipeline instead setting up of drains along the S-Type due to a prolonged land dispute with the rayat Sitaram Singh. The width of the service-lane at this stretch has also been redecued considerably.

Notably, over 2,000 heavy vehicles, including trailers, vans and other mode of vehicles every day-round-the-clock to Kandra-Tata four lane which is the artery of Adityapur industrial hub, linking to steel city of Jamshedpur on the one hand and NH-33 on the other hand through the Kandra-Chandil road.

The JARDCL’s senior manager said that the work for the service lane along the Ghorababa temple will also begin soon as the company as well as the local administration is making frantic efforts for finding out a way out.

Notably, the work of the 15-kilometre long Tata-Kandra Road’s main carriage lane is complete, but due to incompletion of the service lanes, the project is being considered as incomplete. After deadline of the Tata-Kandra Road project was over April 20 last year, the JARDCL had expedited the construction of service lane, which is still going on.
