Jamshedpur, Jan 17: During his visit to Jamshedpur, Health Secretary K Vidyasagar conducted a surprise inspection of MGM Hospital which is under direstraits.
Accompanying him were DC Dr. Amitabh Kaushal and VP (Corporate) Tata Steel Sunil Bhaskaran. During the surprise inspection Health Secretary found several flaw and looking at the state of Squalor in the premises of the state run hospital he reprimanded the Superintendent.
Later in the day while talking to the mediapersons, Health Secretary K Vidyasagar said that late on Friday night Chief Secretary Sajal Chakraborty visited the hospital and found several loopholes in the running of the hospital in city and on his direction health secretary conducted a surprise inspection on Saturday morning in order to improve the facilities here.
During the Health Secretary visit Senior doctor of TMH and VP (Corporate) Tata Steel were also seen talking to him. Heath Secretary further said, �We are in talks with Tata Steel management in order to improve the facilities at MGM Hospital as Tata�s are running several hospitals successfully.
We also had discussions with VP Sunil Bhaskaran and senior doctors of TMH in order to improve the fate of MGM and also to make it one of the top hospitals of the city�.
K Vidyasagar further talking to the newsmen said that he will conduct thorough inspection of each area of the hospital including all the wards, operation theatre, emergency and look into the flaws associated with it and will then finalise on the improvement side with priority.
Talking about the employees shortage, Health Secretary added that no business can run without man power and in order to improve the state of MGM the man power problem has to be improved as early as possible through outsourcing.
