Jamshedpur, Dec 29: Tarun Huria assumed office as the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Chakradharpur Division, South Eastern Railway, on December 28, 2024. He succeeds Rathod in this key leadership role.
An accomplished officer from the 1993 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), Huria brings nearly three decades of expertise to the position. Since joining Indian Railways in March 1995, he has held various pivotal roles, including Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer at Konkan Railway and Chief Rolling Stock Engineer (Coaching) at Western Railway.
Before this appointment, he served as Chief Workshop Engineer and Chief Planning Engineer at East Coast Railway. Huria also managed critical projects during his tenure with the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi and held the position of Chief Workshop Manager at the Lower Parel Railway Workshop.
Known for his focus on infrastructure development and operational excellence, Huria is expected to spearhead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and growth of the Chakradharpur Division. His extensive background in mechanical engineering and strategic planning is seen as a significant asset in driving innovation and improving services.
Huria’s appointment is anticipated to further strengthen the division’s commitment to excellence in railway operations, benefiting both passengers and freight services across the region.
