Tarapore School students pay tribute to Indian Women’s World Cup Victory

Sports Day: Garnet House Lifts Overall Championship Trophy

Jamshedpur, Dec 3: Tarapore School celebrated its 20th Annual Sports Day with pride and enthusiasm on Wednesday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event featured colourful performances, exciting athletic competitions and enthusiastic participation from students of all grades. Chief Guest Kumar Shivashish, Superintendent of Police, City Jamshedpur, graced the occasion and encouraged the young athletes.

The programme began with an impressive march past by school leaders and students of Classes IX to XII. Their disciplined formation and synchronised steps highlighted teamwork and dedication. A special highlight this year was the tribute paid by students to the Indian Women’s Cricket Team for their remarkable victory against South Africa in the World Cup finale. Their creative presentation honoured the national achievement and drew applause from everyone present.

 

Students from different classes presented well-coordinated drill displays, adding colour and energy to the event. The march past competition saw active participation from all four Houses, with Amber House securing the first position.

Best Athlete Awards were presented in three categories. In the sub-junior group, the winners were Vishal Mardi (Boys) and Sapna Pradhan (Girls). In the junior category, the awards went to Dharmal Mardi (Boys) and Komal Kumari (Girls). In the senior category, Jasdeep Singh (Boys) and Tanisha Sharma (Girls) received the honours.

One of the key highlights of the day was the announcement of the Sportsperson of the Year, which was awarded to Komal Kumari for her consistent performance, discipline and sportsmanship.

The Overall Championship of Sporting Events was won by Garnet House, which also lifted the overall championship trophy, marking another proud achievement for the house.
All winners were honoured with medals and certificates, making the event a memorable celebration of talent, teamwork and sporting spirit. The Sports Day concluded on a high note, reflecting the school’s commitment to promoting physical fitness and holistic development.
