Jamshedpur: The Tarapore Young Leaders Fellows guided by the XLRI Sigma Team organised Pahal: Kal Hai Hamara at Tata Auditorium. Over 420 students from 27 Government Schools in and around Jamshedpur gathered at XLRI for a Career Fair which aimed at broadening the horizon of career options available to them and guide them on how to pursue the same.
The lack of proper career drive and certainty of professions to pursue is something that all the fellows noted in all 3 of their PILOT schools and hence took up the initiative of organising Pahal.3
16 Professionals from varied walks of life addressed the students and guided them up the steps of what, how, when and where.

The DC, Amit Kumar, who was the chief guest at the inauguration, shared his inspiring story of becoming an IAS officer with the students in his
address.
B. D. Bodhanwala, renowned Social Worker, Shuvra Dwivedi, Founder of SEEDS Foundation, Prof. P. Venugopal – a guiding hand to the fellows – Chairman of Centre for Global Management and Responsible Leadership, the Dean of Academics at XLRI, Prof. A. K. Pani and Prof. Madhukar Shukla, Faculty Advisor of SIGMA graced the event with their presence.
The programme also presented the projects that the 16 fellows had been working on for the past 3 months. Divided into three groups, the fellows of groups 1 worked at Matigodha High School with the generous help of Tarapore School, set up a Computer Club to impart basic knowledge of Ms Office and general Computer Operation to the students and a Sui Dhaaga

club wherein they taught the students embroidery, hemming and block printing.
Group 2, at Kulgodha Middle School employed modern, interactive, and effective methods of learning – such as making charts – to teach the students basic Mathematics and English – covering topics that would be of use to the students in daily life.
At Chapri High School, group 3 introduced Career counselling sessions for the students and also worked to improve their basic English skills. Group 3 also renovated a deserted room into a
bright Students Corner and incorporated learning with playing by painting simple stories in English and grammar exercises and upgraded an old shelf into a Reading Corner with both, story and course books, to establish a regular reading habit among the students.
At Pahal, group 1 put up the handkerchiefs and table mats made by the students of Matigodha High School on display while group 2 put up the charts employed in the teaching process which had been made by the students of Kulgodha Middle School
