Jamshedpur, May 3: The Ghaghidih Central Jail in Jamshedpur is grappling with a water crisis exacerbated by rising temperatures. Both new and old boreholes within the jail complex have failed, leading to an acute shortage of water. This situation has impacted over 2000 inmates residing in the jail. In response to the officer’s plea, Bagbera Panchayat Samiti member Sunil Gupta coordinated efforts to alleviate the crisis. With his intervention, a 12000-liter water tanker from JUSCO was arranged to supply drinking water to the prisoners. The arrival of clean drinking water on Friday was a relief for prisoners lodged in the Ghaghidih Central Jail.
