Tangrain students organize �Pahara rally�

Jamshedpur: The students of Upgraded Middle School, Tangrain, Potka, took out a �Pahara rally� (multiplication table rally) on Wednesday.

They repeated aloud multiplication tables from 1 to 20 on their way throughout the rally. The rally moved through the village.

It also reached the houses of children who were absent in school today. The students and teachers talked to the parents and other family members of the absentees and requested them to send their wards to school regularly.

The rally was led by teachers Arbind Tiwary, Sumita Munda and Vishwajeet Sardar. Arbind Tiwary said the purpose of the rally is to ensure that children learn the multiplication tables quickly and development their arithmetic skills.

He said all students had been asked to memorize multiplication tables from 1 to 20. Recently, the children were taken to cinema to watch the film �Babubali� as a motivation to learn the tables and take interest in mathematics, Tiwary said.
