Take5 Communications’ centenary salutation to immortal maestro Salil Chowdhury

Kolkata, Sept 1: ZINDAGI KAISI HAI PAHELI was the fifth consecutive Centenary Event organized by Kolkata based ‘Take5 Communications’. In fact, this outing was its centenary salutation to immortal music maestro Salil Chowdhury.

The event was organized at Rotary Sadan Kolkata on August 30 and it evoked an overwhelming response from the lovers of retro music. The captive audience dived back into a golden era of Indian film music and lapped up all Salil Chowdhury compositions in an auditorium reverberating with claps of heartfelt appreciation.

The two and a half hours show boasted of some timeless melodies composed by the music maestro and performed by Raja Hussain, Sudeshna Kundu, Dr. Bratati Bhattacharyya, Sudeshna Chakraborty, Apurba Roy Chowdhury and Pappu Chauhan. The audience was held in a mesmerizing web.

Popular Hindi and Bengali Songs like ‘Dharti Kahe PukarKe’, ‘Dil Tadap-Tadap Ke’, ‘Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaaye’, ‘BiswapitaTumi’, ‘Amaye Prshno Kore’, ‘Na Jaane Kyon’, ‘Jaaneman-Jaaneman’, ‘Dhitang-Dhitang Bole’, ‘Shono Kono Ek Din’, ‘Rajanigandha PhoolTumhare’ among other hit numbers were performed live much to the delight of a packed auditorium. A Special audio visual presentation on Salil Chowdhury’s works was screened at the beginning of the programme. Special ‘talks’ on Salil Chowdhury were given by prominent speakers of the city in the course of the event.

The august gathering at Rotary Sadan comprised top bosses from the corporate world, professors and deans from educational institutions, dignitaries from the arena of art and culture and eminent citizens of the city.

The Show was anchored by Kolkata’s very renowned Pranam Roy.

Tathagata Bhattacherjee, Chief of ‘Take 5 Communications’ was very upbeat about the successes of their Centenary Tribute Events of Creative Legends. After Mukesh 100, Dev Anand 100, Raj Kapoor 100, Md. Rafi 100 and now Salil Chowdhury 100, Take 5 Communications is gearing up for their next…Guru Dutt Centenary Tribute event in December 2025. The excitement continues to remain unabated.
