Tagore Society holds Varsha-Mangal at Rabindra Bhawan

Jamshedpur: As a prolonged tradition of over 5 decades, the Tagore Society of Jamshedpur organized Varsha-Mangal, a programme dedicated to the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore based on his poetic creations depicting the season of rain & monsoon.

The event was organized on Friday at the Rabindra Bhawan Sabhasagar Auditorium. The event began with a farewell function organised for Kathak dance teacher of Tagore School of Arts Paresh Chandra Das.

On the occasion Dr. Goutam Dasgupta, vice president of the Tagore Society awarded Das with cheque, citation and a shawl. Paresh Chandra Das has been associated with Jamshedpur Tagore Society for the last 46 years.


Ashish Chowdhary, secretary of the society informed that a large number of students who participated in the event displayed their singing & dancing skills on stage.

The event was glorified with songs like �Akash Tale dale dale’, �Aisho Aisho Ogo Shyam Chaya Ghano Dine’, etc that made the audience dance to its tune. Singers from Kolkata and other parts of the country rejuvenated the event.

Music director Chandana Choudhary, dance director Reeta Mitra, Tabla player from Kolkata Partho Mukherjee were present at the event.
