Jamshedpur, March 18: Tagore Society, Jamshedpur celebrated Basant Utsav at Rabindra Bhawan in Sakchi on Saturday.
Holi by the name of Basant Utsav is celebrated with fervour in the state of West Bengal. The tradition of Vasantotsav, meaning Spring Festival was started by poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore at Shantiniketan, the University he founded.
Tagore composed numerous tunes of ever refreshing songs and choreographs to welcome Holi. On the occasion 170 students and teachers of Tagore Society’s Art of School partcipated in the programme.
