Jamshedpur: The Tagore Academy held its 12th Annual Sports Meet at the Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco. The Tagore Academy is the educational wing of Tagore Society.
In his inaugural address, Tagore Society president HS Paul averred, �Sports is an important component of life. Education is an integral amalgam of mental and physical development for a healthy mind resides within a healthy body.�
The general secretary of Tagore Society, Ashis Chowdhury stated, �The Tagore Academy believes in and implements all the essentials of all round development of students and these include education in the various art forms and sports.�
The students, categorized under their four school houses displayed their penchant for sports wherein the Nilgiri House bagged the first place.
The coveted first prize was won by the students of Std XI followed by Nilgiri and Himalaya Houses respectively.
Sanhita Lahiri conducted the vent. The Academy�s games teacher Subal Chatterjee, Samir Roy, Mita Banerjee, Arindam Bhattacharya along with games� committee members Anita Pal, Sadhana Srivastav and Lily Banerjee ensured the success of the event.
School principal Madhuchhanda Majumdar coordinated the sports meet.
