Tag ANM / Sahiyas with catchment areas of health centers and give target: CS

Ranchi, June 18: Chief secretary Rajbala Verma on Saturday directed concerned officials to identify catchment area of all health centers and ensure that ANM /sahiyas lead the expectant women to health centers.

She said this while addressing officials of the Health Department, Civil Surgeons and DPOs on institutional delivery and immunization through video conferencing.

Verma said that anganwadi sevikas and sahiyas should be given new targets every month to collect figures of newborn babies and pregnant women. At the same time, it should be ensured how many and which ANMs / sahiyas have given their contribution to promote institutional delivery.

It should be noted that institutional delivery has increased in one month as directives were given for this. The CS said that immunization program should be run on mission mode wherever the work is not completed.

She emphasized to ensure responsibility of officers on every level for the survey of newborn babies and institutional delivery.

The CS said that such dark areas should be identified where health services are not available and people have to go far for treatment. She directed the officers to go to Gudri block and present the ground report.

She also directed to increase the number of Mamta vehicles to 5000 from the present 2400.

Social Welfare secretary M. S. Bhatia, Ashish Singhmar of Health Department along with other officers was present in the meeting.
