T V Narendran elected as Chairman, CII Jharkhand

Jamshedpur : Steel secretary G Mohan Kumar on Wednesday said that the Union Steel Ministry is working on plan to achieve the ambitious target of trebling annual domestic steel output to 300 million tonnes by 2025. He said that the private sector and the government together must strive to achieve the target. Kumar was addressing Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Jharkhand Annual Meeting.

He said that �Industry has to be the engine of growth� and its is imperative for the development of the state that industry provides sustainable employment and social mobility to the youth.

He was of the view that manufacturing should contribute 25 per cent to the GDP, for which manufacturing should have a strong foundation,whose major contributors will be steel industry,manufacturers of downstream products and other capital intensive industries.
He also highlighted the fact that industry should grow on a sustainable model with inclusive growth and responsible capitalism.

Dipankar Panda, director industries, Govt.of Jharkhand emphasized on the significance of CII Govt of Jharkhand taskforce and the various initiatives that this taskforce will address .He also assured that Govt of Jharkhand is committed to the growth and development of the state ,through co-operation for realization of common goals.

S.K.Behera, chairman CII Jharkhand State Council opened the session with the initiatives that were undertaken in the past year, he also emphasized on the need for revival of the state. He also mentioned that CII �Government of Jharkhand Taskforce will be a stepping stone for long term development of the state. He also mentioned the need to invite and sustain industries in the state.

Viresh Oberoi, deputy chairman eastern region in his address mentioned that the reforms will have to be initiated and supported at the state level, which will be done through considerate policy advocacy at the state level, with help and support from the central government.

T.V.Narendran, Vice Chairman CII Jharkhand and MD Tata Steel proposed the vote of thanks. He also mentioned that CII Jharkhand will be committed to inclusive growth models, which will promote industrialization which is acceptable to the larger world .He also mentioned that Jamshedpur township is a good example of inclusive growth.

T V Narendran has been elected as the Chairman CII Jharkhand State Council, Mr.Tarun Daga, Managing Director Tinplate Co. Of India Ltd has been elected as the Vice Chairman CII Jharkhand State Council .
