Jamshedpur: A swimming competition was organized at Upgraded Middle School, Tangrain, in Potka on Tuesday. It was organized under the initiative taken by teacher Arbind Tiwary.
The first prize under senior category was won by Vishnu Sardar while second and third prizes were won by Vimal Sardar and Mahendra Sardar. In the junior category, the first prize was won by Dhanu Tudu while the second and third prizes were won by Sagar Mandal and Ajit Sardar respectively.
The judges at the event included Ashok Singh, Mangal Pan, Piyush Mandal, Pranav Bhagat, Sudhakar Bhagat and Bablu Munda. The winners of the event were felicitated by the secretary of District Swimming Association Ashok Singh and local villagers.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Singh said he would help talented students participate at district and state level competitions.
He gave tips to students on swimming and various techniques involved in it. The programme was conducted by Arbind Tiwary.
Among those present on the occasion included the Mukhiya of Tangrain Rajaram Munda, former headmaster Jai Hari Singh Munda, Gram Pradhan Mangal Pan, school committee president Singhrai Manjhi, ward member Mangla Manjhi, Ghasiram, CRP Vidyadhar Mandal, headmaster SK Thakur and Sanat Mandal.
