Sweeper of MGM’s Covid ward dies, funeral performed

Jamshedpur:  Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College Hospital cleaning staff Manoj Mukhi died on Wednesday morning at Uma Hospital on National Highway. On Tuesday evening, he was brought to MGM Hospital due to severe pain in his stomach and vomiting of blood, doctors referred him to the high centre.

He was then taken to the Tata Main Hospital (TMH) but was not admitted their due to lack of beds. After this, the victim’s relatives approached the Brahmanand Hospital in Tamulia, but there no empty beds there. In view of this, the victim was taken to Uma Hospital, where he died at around 6 am on Wednesday morning. After this, the corona was not examined and he was cremated at the Swarnarekha Burning Ghat in Bhuiyandih. After this, many questions have started to arise.

Employees said that MGM Hospital has been made Covid Hospital for the treatment of Corona patients. They are busy day and night in the service of patients. In the absence of beds, treatment was also not available and the patient died. Neither agency officials nor hospital management stood by him in this hour of grief.

The deceased has been working in MGM Hospital for 20 years and was seeking to be stabilized. He also met the Health Minister for this. There was an assurance from the minister to do something good, but he died in the meantime. The deceased’s house is Chandinagar in Bhuiyandih.
