Sushil Tudu Named Man of the Series; Rakesh Mahato Best Batter, Manik Sardar Best Bowler
Jamshedpur: Team Swarnarekha emerged victorious in the seventh edition of the Mahadev Premier League (MPL), a tennis ball cricket tournament organized by Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Limited for its employees.
In a thrilling final at the Mahadev Sports Ground, Swarnarekha defeated Team Kavach by 11 runs to claim the championship. The eight-day tournament showcased high energy and exceptional sportsmanship from all participating corporate teams.
In the showdown, Swarnarekha won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a competitive total of 77 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 8 overs. Sushil Tudu, later named Man of the Match, played an aggressive knock of 58 runs, decorated with three sixes and six boundaries. For Team Kavach, Rakesh Mahato and Manik Sardar managed to pick up one wicket each.
Chasing the target, Team Kavach put up a spirited fight. Contributions from Aditya Singh (29), Rakesh Mahato (17), and Vice-Captain Baljeet Sansoa (11) brought them close, but they ultimately fell short, finishing at 66 for 3. Swarnarekha’s bowling attack, led by Sushil Tudu (2 wickets) and Sachin Tudu (1 wicket), ensured the victory.

A total of ten teams participated in the league: Swarnarekha, Kavach, Nav Urja, Shaktisrot, Ujala, Jeevandayini, Sankalp, Dwapar, Treta, and Prakash.
Closing Ceremony and Dignitaries
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Nirmal Agarwal (Director) and Special Guest Arun Kumar Mishra (CEO). Addressing the gathering, Nirmal Agarwal emphasized that sports are a powerful medium for teamwork, discipline, and leadership. He noted that events like the MPL foster coordination and positive energy among employees. CEO Arun Kumar Mishra lauded the dedication of the players, reiterating the company’s commitment to the holistic development of its workforce through sports and cultural activities.
