Jamshedpur, March 7: The Swadeshi Mela will start from March 8 at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur. Organised by the Centre for Bharatiya Marketing Development (CBMD), a wing of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch the mela will be inaugurated by Jamshedpur East MLA Raghubar Das while Saryu Roy, the former BJP MLA from Jamshedpur West will be present as the special guest. Main speaker for the event will be Chairman of Swadeshi Research Foundation and National convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch. Dhanpatram Agrawal while the event will be headed by Murlidhar Kedia.
The fair will have 300 stalls with a variety of products ranging from apparels, food products, madhubani paintings, handmade jewellery, yoga stall, ceramic artefacts, tussar silk materials, Ayurvedic medicines, etc.
This year the manch will be putting up a theme pavilion relating to the ayurvedic plants and vegetables to make the people aware. The cultural program will be held daily from 6 in the evening while a competition will be held for ladies and children. The mela will close on March 15.
