Jamshedpur, October 16:Centre for Bharatiya Marketing Development (CBMD), a wing of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, will organize 13th Swadeshi Mela from 18 to 25 October at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.
The mela will be inaugurated by the chief guest for the occasion state food and civil supplies minister, Saryu Rai. Main speaker for the event will be national organizer of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Kashmiri Lal and guest of honour will be Ananda shankar Panigrahi of Swadeshi Jagran Manch.
Talking to the media persons at Gopal Maidan on Sunday, Convener of the Mela, Ashok Goyal, member of Swadeshi Jagran Manch Manoj Kumar Singh, Bandi Shankar Singh, convenor of CBMD Murlidhar Media informed, the fair is will house around 300 kiosks promoting locally made handloom and handicrafts, items like pickles and snacks and also accessories like handbags, footwear and decorative products.
They further said that for entertainment cultural programmes will be held everyday at 6 pm. During the fair several competitions for children and women along with symposium will also be held.
Artisans from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhatisgarh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh will display their products, government agencies such as District Rural Development Authority and NABARD will also put up stalls.
The mega fair which is aimed to promote country made products from cottage industries and other sectors with an array of handloom, handicraft and other products. Food stalls with dishes from Rajasthan, Gujarat, South India etc will also be put up.
