Susen, Riya crowned best athlete at St. Joseph School sports meet

Jamshedpur: St. Joseph School, Bhilaipahari organised its second sports meet in the school premises on Saturday. Chief Guest for the occasion RVS College principal Dr. RN Gupta declared the meet open after hoisting the flag and lighting the torch. Students of the school staged Bhangra, Santali, dandiya dance and attractive drill.

Total of 400 students attended 23 sporting events held during the day. The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates by the chief guest. Guest of Honour for the occasion was former president of Anglo Indian Association Jamshedpur Marry Ekka, village head Ghasiram Singh, Father Desmond Turly also awarded the winners of different sporting events. The school’s band performance was applauded by one and all. Events were also held for the parents while a musical chair event was held for the teachers.

The best athlete in the boy’s category was awarded to Susen Mahto and in the girls section Riya Singh won the top prize. The overall champion of the sports meet was Yellow House with 125 points followed by Green House with 105 points, Red House and Blue House were bagged the third and the fourth position respectively. Sister Nirmala Minj, Satpal Saini, SC Thakur, SK Sharma and others provided full support in making the event successful.
