Jamshedpur: Surya Mandir Committee at Sidhgora here on Saturday announced to sell Chhath puja items at a whopping 25 per cent discount to the devotees of steel city. Coupons will be distributed among around 3000 devotees on 22nd and 23rd October.
Speaking to media-persons at Bhalubasa, Pawan Agrawal, representative of Jamshedpur East MLA, said a special cleanliness campaign was on at the Surya Mandir premises in view of the festival. The Chhath ghat situated on the temple premises is being cleaned and filled with clean water. Cleaning and painting of the Chhath ghat premies has started, he said.
Agrawal said a team of artisans from Chandannagar have been called to decorate the Chhath venue. He said a cultural programme would be organized at the Surya Mandir on 26th October. The artists going to perform on the occasion include Swechha Sahu of Baridih, Soni Srivastava of Bihar, Malhar Karmakar and Monali Thakur of Bollywood.
Agrawal further said that a special focus is being given to security of the temple premises. In order to ensure foolproof security, 32 CCTV cameras and drones would be used this year. A large LED screen would be installed near the temple premises.
Among others present during the press conference included the temple committee president Kamlesh Singh, Kulwant Singh Bunty and Sushant Panda.
