Jamshedpur, March 4: A bike rider doing stunts on the Agrico stretch of the Straight Mile Road hit a couple riding on a motorcycle near Road # 3 of Agrico under Sidgora police station. The couple, residents of Telco Manifit Mandal Basti fell on the road and received serious injuries. People present during the accident caught the errant biker and handed him over to the Sidgora police. The injured couple, Puja and her husband Indrajit Kumar, was admitted to the MGM Hospital for treatment. Pooja suffered fracture on her left leg, stated that she and her husband who too had suffered serious injuries because of the accident were on their way to Mango where her husband had to appear for an exam conducted by the India Agricultural Research Institute.
It may be mentioned that citizens are an unnerved lot because of the rough driving and stunts performed on roads by a section of the youth in areas where there are no police checkpoints. The traffic police, in fact, nabbed many bikers of this genre but have been unable to harness the entire stunt practitioners who remain a threat to commuters in the city.
