Students learn robotics, 3D printing at ‘Tinker Fest’

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Public School organised a one day workshop ‘Tinker Fest 2018’ on robotics in the school premises on Wednesday.
The fest aimed at encouraging innovation and creative ideas.

Students from several city schools including Rajendra Vidyalaya, St Mary’s English High School, Baridih High School, SDSM School for Excellence,Valley View School, Jusco School Kadma, Baldwin Farm Area, AIWC Academy for Excellence and JH Tarapore School attended the workshop along with teachers.

Each team was allotted a student mentor from JPS, a class 10 student.

The role of the student mentors was to guide and help the students in the making of the Robotics model .The students were first explained about the different parts of the Robot and were given brief information about it after which they were informed how to assemble the parts and also were taught about programming.

In the second half of the workshop the students were exposed to 3D printing and the software used for 3D printing. All the students had a good time and they were very excited about the entire workshop throughout the day they kept themselves busy with creating the robots and at the end of the day they went home satisfied and learnt a lot.

The workshop was conducted by the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) incharge teacher Sanjay Kumar Sinha along with teacher Surjit Kundu, teacher Yadunandan Behra, teacher Padmavati, Nisha Sulagna and Sanjeev Kumar Jha.

At the end of the workshop all the students as well as the teachers were given certificates.
