Jamshedpur: The district administration is gearing up for the traditional festival of Chhath, and in this regard, SSP Kishore Kaushal conducted a meeting with police officials on Thursday. Present at the meeting were City SP Mukesh Lunayat, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, trainee DSP, and others. During the meeting, SSP Kishore Kaushal issued essential instructions to the police officials.
SSP Kaushal informed that the police have completed preparations for Chhath in the district, including changes in the traffic system to avoid congestion during the festival. Barricades will be set up to control the movement of vehicles, and parking arrangements have been identified at 36 locations. Police personnel in plain clothes will be deployed at the ghats to ensure security.
Expressing concern over complaints regarding the unauthorized sale of Chhath ghats, SSP Kaushal directed all police station officers to monitor the ghats and take immediate action against any unauthorized sale. During the Chhath Puja, the ghats become hotspots for snatchers and pickpockets, often involving outsiders. The bus stands and railway stations will be closely monitored to prevent such incidents, and public awareness will be raised through the public announcement system.
To address potential home thefts during the puja when many residents lock their houses and head to the ghats, a dedicated patrolling team has been formed to monitor the residential areas continuously. SSP Kishore Kaushal emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to maintain law and order during the Chhath festival.
