Jamshedpur, May 23: The steel city was hit by a strong storm on Monday evening at around 5.15 p.m. bringing down the temperate in the heat soaked region and surroundings.
Light rainfall in several areas including Jugsalai, Bistupur and Sakchi also came as a relief for the denizens suffering from scorching sun.
The city was enveloped by dark clouds, which hid the sun, causing darkness during day. Commuters had to switch on the headlight of vehicles as it became difficult to see things even a few feet away.
The storm led to traffic jams in several areas of the city, while water logged roads added to woes.
Not only did it cause chaos on city streets, but also forced the residents of the city to stay indoors. Light rain associated with the storm also caused electricity cuts in Jugsalai and Mango.
