Jamshedpur: A Special Task Force led by SDO Chandan Kumar launched a special drive against illegal crusher units in Govindpur police station area on Tuesday. Five illegal crusher units were destroyed during the drive.
An FIR was lodged against proprietors of the crusher units on the complaint of district mining officer Nadeem Safi. Those booked were identified as Bhaskar Mahato, Anand Mahato, Mithu Mahato, Balak Chandra Das and Gopal Dutta.
The SDO said the STF would continue to take action against the illegal crusher units in the area.
