Step up social policing in rural areas: SP Rural

Baharagora: SP Rural of East Singhbhum Prabhat Kumar paid an inspection visit to various police stations in the district on Saturday.

He said the bonding between police and the public would be strengthened further through social policing. He said the peace committees working at police station levels should be involved in the process of keeping peace. He said greater participation of local residents in policing would ensure peace.

During a visit to the Baharagora police station, Kumar asked the officials to ensure regular patrolling in the area, speedy disposal of pending cases and action against suspicious looking people and warrantees.

The SP said he was aware of the manpower crisis in the department. He said the police should work in close collaboration with the people of their respective areas of jurisdiction to ensure success in prevention and detection of crime.
