Steel city Sikhs observe 30th anniversary of Operation Bluestar

Jamshedpur: Members of Sikh community across the city assembled in large numbers at various gurdwaras to mark the 30th anniversary of Operation Bluestar chanting slogans of Give us Justice.

A special prayer meeting was organised by community members in memory of all those who died during the operation.
The community members who gathered at Sakchi Gurudwara said even after three decades their wounds and the hurt caused by its bloody aftermath are yet to heal.

Criticising the then government’s move, president of Gurmat Prachar Sangh Committee said, “We have gathered to pray collectively for the departed souls.”

Pointing out the new government’s formation he said the Sikh community expected that the ruling party will function on secular lines and work towards national integration.

It may be mentioned here that Sikh community including SGPC and Akal Takht every year observe the anniversary of Operation Bluestar for the last 29 years.
