Steel city bids tearful adieu to Fr. Richard A Kenna

Jamshedpur, Nov. 13: As Father Richard A Kenna S.J. (1926-2016) famous educationist of Jamshedpur ascends to the heavenly abode, residents of the Steel City of Jamshedpur bid him a tearful goodbye on Sunday, November 13. His funeral was held at St. Joseph�s Cathedral, Golmuri. Many of his former students, teachers, parents joined the large number of priests and sisters at the cathedral.

Father Kenna came to India from Maryland (USA) in 1970 and dedicated his life working as an educationist in various parts of Jharkhand for 46 long years. He spent 29 years in Loyola School, Jamshedpur and was the founder-moderator of the highly popular Astronomy club at Loyola School.

Many students have fond memories of time spent with Father Kenna whilst gazing the stars and planets through his telescope. He also worked in St.Xavier�s School, Lupungutu, Chaibasa and De Nobili School, Dighwadih. Father was a passionate and keen photographer. He won the hearts of students, teachers, and parents with his simple, saintly living and angelic smile.
