Simplification of land laws to benefit Adivasis: CM

Ranchi, Nov. 13: Addressing people on Kartik Oraon birth anniversary programme at Dhurva, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the culture of Jharkhand will echo with the beat of mandar.

All of us have to make our state prosperous, self-dependent, self-reliant above the feeling of caste, creed and class. We will not let anyone loot Jharkhand nor spread rumours and lies about it.

He said that our culture is nature worship-oriented. We worship nature. Sanatan religion is joint form of Sarna and Sadan.

He said that previously, many people mediated in tribal land and earned good amount. But we removed SAR court and stopped brokers’ activities in tribal land. Our government identified posts in districts with scheduled areas and now tribal people are getting jobs, he said.

“With simplification of the local land laws, only raiyats will be benefitted. After simplification, they can open shop on their land and do business other than agriculture. If they have land on main road, why should they not be allowed to do business on their own land? With the simplification of CNT Act and the SPT Act, they can do business or agriculture on their own land and be the owner,” said the CM.

Das said that 257 power sub-stations will be established to illuminate the 30 lakh houses that still await electricity supply. He said that everyone should have access to common amenities like electricity, roads, education and healthcare.

The government wants to electrify the villages, construct 12,000 additional anganwadi centres and roads to develop the state but some people are trying to hinder the plan. But they will not be successful, he said.
