Ranchi, April 12: State rural development department will adopt zero tolerance towards irregularities in the execution of rural development schemes.
Secretary rural development department, Manish Ranjan while addressing deputy development commissioners (DDCs), project officers of all the districts during the closing function of the two-day workshop on the annual action plan of the rural development department at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) auditorium in Ranchi asked to ensure that there are no irregularities.
“Ensure geo-tagging of MGNREGA schemes. Priority schemes should be included in the main agenda, as well as share best practices should be shared with the media and legal action should be taken against those who do wrong,” said Ranjan.
He said that the muster rolls for MNREGA should be filled in a proper and transparent manner.
Along with this, action should be ensured against middlemen in MNREGA scheme.
“Keep in mind that the implementation of MGNREGA scheme is being monitored by the Government of India, so there is a need to strengthen the monitoring system. Keep in mind that you are a part of MGNREGA team and teamwork can give better results,” added Ranjan.
MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B said that focus should be on rural development and Aadhaar seeding of beneficiaries should be ensured by ensuring job card verification. She also expressed displeasure with the officials for the laxity regarding MNREGA schemes in various districts and directed that the pending projects should be completed within three months.
Rajeshwari B said that there is a need to improve the rejected transactions.
“If NMMS is not being done, then action can be taken against the Block Development Officer. Therefore, if mate is not working then the services of computer operators can be taken. Remember that only the updated status of the plans should be uploaded, geo tagging along with the completeness of the plan. Those schemes of zero expenditure should be deleted which are of 2018-19,” said Rajeshwari.
The workshop was mainly attended by SIRD director Suraj Kumar, additional secretary rural development department Ram Kumar Sinha, Deputy Development Commissioners and Project Officers of all the districts were present.
