Jamshedpur, Feb 7: In keeping with the Loyola tradition, the school’s Telco chapter continues to develop as a model educational institution where books and sports have been partners through time in ensuring allround development of students to take on challenges and overcome them.
Loyola School Telco is being developed as a model school where every state-of-the-art facilities will be available to the students. For instance, the school can now boast of another innovation in the form of a state-of-the-art basketball court that was commissioned on Tuesday morning. This Rs 10 lakh basketball court was jointly inaugurated on Tuesday morning by Birsanagar police station in-charge Prabhat Kumar and Father Kalathur Joseph, rector of Loyola School, Bistupur.

The school authorities said that this new basketball court was one of its kinds in Bihar and Jharkhand. This basketball court has been laid by Pune based Gemcon Company. The work on the new court had commenced on January 3. E Froxy material had been used while laying this court to ensure that players did not suffer injuries even after a fall. The school management has set up a water softener plant costing Rs Two lakh that will provide clean water in the school.
Principal Charanjit Ohson, Vice Principal Zeenat, Administrator Fr Jerry and many Loyola Bistupur alumni members were present during the inaugural. A friendly match was played between two teams picked among the Loyola Telco students to enliven the joy and pride of the occasion.
