Jamshedpur : Following alleged phone tapping made by the former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Sunday demanded a high level probe into the allegation of phone tapping made against Raghubar Das led Government.

Addressing a press meet, JPCC president Sukhdeo Bhagat said that phone tapping is a serious issue and matter of great concern for the political party. Moreover, since the allegation has been made by a senior leader-cum-former Chief Minister, Government must call for a high level probe.

When questioned about Chief Minister Raghubar Das’s demand for an apology from Marandi if he failed to produce evidence within 24 hours to authenticate his allegation, Bhagat said the evidence is equally important if any allegation is made. But, if the allegation is found to be true, those responsible should be punished he further noted.

It may be mentioned here that Marandi had alleged phones over 3000 persons, including bureaucrats, businessmen, contractors, journalists and even leaders of the ruling party, were illegally tapped and demanded a probe by a Special Investigation Team ( SIT) under the supervision of a sitting Jharkhand High Court judge.

The State Congress chief also came down heavily upon Raghubar Das government for rampant transfer posting in the state. Moreover, Jharkhand Government has miserably failed to deliver in all fronts.

Within a year the State Government has set records for transfer posting. To our utter surprise, DCs of Garwa, which is a crucial area, were transferred several number of times.

Moreover, in all the districts the SPs and DCs are being transferred without keeping the time frame in mind, said Bhagat. He also alleged that to generate funds for Bihar elections, the State Government used transfer posting as a tool. He said that its the first time that the officials have been transferred in such a short period.

The Chief Minister has completed 12 months in office but not a single work has been done but the point to be noted is that CM has made several announcements and by now he would have forgotten the amount of announcements made. Das government has fallen apart in every poll promises he made and its time the people of the state would realize that its a government only for the corporate and not the AamAadmi said State Congress president.

Bhagat alleged the transfers were done whimsically and not on merit or genuine cause, which led to disorder in the law and order situation in the state.

He also added that partys win in the Lohardaga (ST) Assembly by-election has clearly indicated that the people of the state have lost faith in the one-year-old Raghubar Das-headed NDA government and want a change in the state,” he said.
