St. Mary Alumni Trust Jamshedpur hosts free health camp for Siadih Villagers

Jamshedpur: The St. Mary Alumni Trust (SMAT) organized a comprehensive health camp at Vidya Jyoti Middle School in Siadih village, Dhalbhumgarh block, as part of a major community outreach initiative.

The camp provided essential medical services to a large number of villagers. Key services included:

  • General Health Check-ups: Doctors provided routine screenings for all attendees.

  • Eye Examinations: Purnima Netralay supported specialized vision screenings.

  • Child Health Screening: Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Jamshedpur, conducted screenings for congenital health issues in children.

Inclusive Healthcare and Free Medicine

Organizers opened the camp to everyone regardless of religion, caste, or creed. To provide immediate relief, the Trust distributed free medicines to patients in need.

Fr. Veron D’Souza, Principal of St. Mary’s English School, and Fr. Alex motivated the team and facilitated the event.

Alumni in Action

Members of the alumni association volunteered throughout the day to ensure the camp ran smoothly. Key contributors included:

  • Leadership: President Shashi Tiwary, past President Gurusharan Singh, General Secretary Amrita Dhanjal, and Treasurer Chandrashekhar.

  • Volunteers: Ashwini Chabra, Tej Singh, Manjot Singh Gill, and Preeti Saini.

The initiative successfully brought high-quality medical attention to a rural community with limited access to healthcare facilities.
