Jamshedpur: St. John’s School Jamshedpur hosted a vibrant celebration of Earth Day, bringing students and teachers together to champion environmental conservation through a series of interactive activities.

Eco Club Takes Centre Stage

The program launched with a thought-provoking play by the school’s Eco Club students, directed by Shabnam Parveen. The performance addressed critical modern challenges, including pollution control, the conservation of natural resources, and the necessity of sustainable living.

Voice and Verse for the Planet

Students amplified the message of preservation through inspiring speeches that emphasized the urgent need to protect our ecosystems. Following the speeches, primary students delivered a soulful poetry recitation, adding an emotional layer to the event by celebrating the innate beauty of nature and the duty to safeguard it.

Innovation Through Upcycling

Creativity took a practical turn as primary-grade students designed innovative posters using waste materials and natural objects. These projects effectively demonstrated the power of recycling and environmental responsibility. Simultaneously, pre-primary students engaged in fun-filled activities that introduced the concepts of reuse and creative repurposing in an age-appropriate, engaging manner.

Administrative Updates and Leadership Insights

During the event, the school administration announced that they have rescheduled the “Bagless Day” initiative, which will now take place on a newly designated date to be shared with parents soon.

Principal Ashu Tiwary addressed the gathering, drawing inspiration from the words of Mahatma Gandhi. She reminded the students that while the Earth provides enough for everyone’s needs, it cannot sustain unchecked greed. She concluded the event by encouraging students to adopt responsible daily habits and actively contribute to the protection of the planet.
