Jamshedpur: St. John’s High School organized a Road Safety Awareness Program for students of Classes 6 to 8 on Tuesday, focusing on traffic rules and safe road practices.
Expert Insights on Road Safety
The session featured Siddharth Agarwal, a road safety expert from Young India, as the chief speaker. Agarwal sensitized the young audience by:
-
Identifying Hazards: Highlighting the major causes of road accidents through an engaging video presentation.
-
Promoting Safe Habits: Urging students to use zebra crossings, wear helmets, obey traffic signals, and avoid mobile phone use while driving.
-
Encouraging Responsibility: Explaining how small changes in behavior can prevent large-scale disasters.
The Safety Pledge
The program concluded with a collective Safety Pledge. Students committed to following road safety norms and vowed to spread awareness among their families and peers.
“The program provided me with valuable knowledge,” said Sourav Kumar, a Class 8 student. “I will follow these rules and motivate others to do the same.”
The school management thanked Agarwal for the insightful session and encouraged students to make road safety a consistent habit.
