Jamshedpur, August 14: The Press Club of Jamshedpur (PCJ) took out a 200 meter long Tiranga Yatra to commemorate, ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and propagate the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ on Monday, on the eve of India’s 77th Independence Day celebrations. Chief Guest, SSP Prabhat Kumar, while flagging of the Yatra by unfurling the National Flag, observed, “The Tiranga Yatra being taken out by the Press Club of Jamshedpur is special as this commendable initiative will serve as an inspiration for many. Independence Day is a national celebration that inspires, educates and fans the fire of patriotism.”
Sanjay Mishra, the editor of Jamshedpur Prabhat Khabar, was also present as a prominent guest on the occasion.
The PCJ Tiranga Yatra commenced from the SSP’s office and passed along via the Jubilee Park roundabout, Baug-e-Jamsheed roundabout, Sakchi main roundabout and culminated at the Ambagan Maidan. The journalists in the engaging PCJ Tiranga Yatra raised slogans that included ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ all along the 200 meter route. Large number of bystanders lined up on both sides of the route and echoed the slogans raised by marching journalists. Many among them also joined the Yatra.
The PCJ Tiranga Yatra was made more effective and attractive as people of all ages including ex-servicemen, members from tribal communities in tribal attire and citizens from various walks of life joined the Tricolour procession in a vibrant reflection of ‘unity in diversity.’
Traffic police efficiently managed the Monday rush along the entire Yatra route and avoided bottlenecks. PCJ President, Sanjeev Bharadwaj expressed his happiness and congratulated all the media folks who had made the Club’s Tiranga Yatra impressive and a huge success.
