Srinath University observes International Yoga Day

Jamshedpur, June 21: Srinath University, in collaboration with Srinath College of Education, came together to observe International Yoga Day at the University’s auditorium. Faculty members and students from all departments participated in the event to celebrate the occasion. The Department of Yoga and Naturopathy took the lead in organizing a program to mark the significance of the day, including a yoga session for all attendees. Pro-Chancellor Gurudev Mahto, Vice-Chancellor Gobind Mahato, faculties, and students from various departments graced the university auditorium with their presence.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the auspicious beginning of the program. Several competitions were held to enhance the spirit of the celebration, including the Best Three Postures of Yoga, Poster Making Competition, Yoga Ka Rang Chitro Ke Sang, and Aashan Par Bhashan.

The winners of the competitions were announced as follows: For the Aashan Par Bhashan competition, Kusum secured the 1st position, followed by Kumari Shiwani in the 2nd position, and Purnendu Pushkar in the 3rd position. In the Best Three Posture competition, Sukhendu Mahato claimed the 1st position, with Vivek Tripathi securing the 2nd position and Singo Hembram securing the 3rd position. The entire program was skillfully anchored by Assistant Professor Madhu Sharma, while Sheyan Mandal, the Head of the School of Health and Allied Sciences, coordinated the event. Asst. Prof. Bina Mahato concluded the program by delivering a vote of thanks.
