Jamshedpur, July 8: Sreeleathers Bistupur on Monday organised a session at Vig English School, Telco making the girls aware about ‘Pad Habit’ a campaign launched by the top footwear brand of the city.
Girl students of the schools were informed about the importance of menstrual hygiene and its preventive measures.
The topic of menstruation is still considered a taboo in the Indian society. This makes it difficult for women and girls living in the Town, slums, and villages to have complete knowledge about sanitary napkins, how to use them, where to buy them from and how to dispose them off.
In the campaign, Sreeleathers aims to address all these challenges related to women sanitation and spread awareness among these girls. The drive will educate women and girls about the importance of hygiene and usage of sanitary pads during their menstrual cycle. Sanitary pad vending machines will be installed in the schools/Colleges. Not only will this spread awareness about the use of sanitary napkins but will also give young girls an easy access to them. The machines would have low cost pads that will be available and affordable to the girls.
Sreeleathers has been running this campaign for years and is back again to make the girls aware of menstruation and citizens to encourage girl child.
