Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Mahanagar committee of Bharatiya Janata Party organized a meeting at a Sakchi hotel on Monday to felicitate newly inducted members of the party.
Many senior party leaders attended the meeting.
Addressing the maiden meeting after being elected as the district BJP president, party leader Dinesh Kumar said the new members should start working on the priority areas set by the party leaders at state level as well as at national level.
He said that all members were expected to live up to the expectations of the party leaders and the people.
“The new members have the responsibility to work as a bridge between the state government and the people of the state. They should work beyond party boundaries and above themselves so that the people may benefit from the activities of the party,” said Kumar.
Also present on the occasion was the Potka MLA Menka Sardar. In her address, she said that the party workers were the real strength of the party and that without their support, it was next to impossible for the organization to take even a step further.
Sardar appealed to party workers to ensure that they speak to people at the grassroots level and inform them about the various development and welfare schemes being run by the state and Central governments.
The party members decided to work on various priority areas which include intensifying the cashless campaign on a war footing, selecting full time members for the party, verifying active member status of members, running an awareness campaign to apprise people about the benefits of the recent amendments in the land laws and include social organizations in the campaign, organizing quarterly meetings at booth level, holding workshops on various government schemes, organizing a blood donation camp for the former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, organizing Sushasan Diwas on 28th December to mark the completion of two years of the state government and convening a meeting of the district working committee of the party in Potka in January next year.
