Jamshedpur: A speeding vehicle knocked down one Rajeev Kumar Shahi, 40, resident of Road No. 4, Bagbera, on the Adityapur-Kandra main road on Saturday.
Sources said the mishap occurred around 8.45 am when the deceased was returning from Gamharia after dropping his teacher wife at her school on his bike.
A trailer truck suddenly knocked him down from behind at high speed. The victim�s head was crushed under the truck, leading to his instant death, sources said.
The errant driver fled the scene with his truck. Local residents blocked the main road for several hours. Cops said a case had been registered against the accused in this connection.
