Speeding Scorpio hits bike, one killed near Barbil

Jamshedpur, June 12: In a head on collision between a motorcycle and a speeding Scorpio near Barbil village under Galudih police station, the two bike riders received grievous injuries. They were rushed to a Jamshedpur hospital for better treatment. One of them, Sitaram Gope of Kalimati village succumbed to his injuries on the way. The other bike rider Bittu Singh of Galudih Subhash Chowk has been admitted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be critical. Both, Sitaram and Bittu were going to Jodasa village when the mishap occurred.

According to reports, the driver of the Scorpio fled with the vehicle from the scene of the accident but abandoned it a little distance away and escaped. Reportedly, there were two other persons traveling by the Scorpio. The police, after getting information, seized the car and took it to the police station. The Scorpio reportedly belongs to a civil contractor who is constructing a culvert in Jhanti Jharna.

Legislator Laxman Tudu, on being informed about the accident, rushed with his supporters to Niramaya Health Care. Seeing the accident victims� grave condition, he immediately had them referred to Jamshedpur for better treatment. However, on way to Jamshedpur, Sitaram Gope died. Both, Sitaram and Bittu had received grievous head and body injuries in the accident.
